Book Interior Design for Print or eBooks

You the author or publisher provide me with your MS Word final text document, fully-edited, ready for book formatting. I create a sample design, fully custom with the look and feel that's right for your book. We collaborate on the sample, tweak the styles, and I complete the formatting to provide you with a print-ready pdf of your book interior for publishing. 1 or 2 rounds of proofing to make minor corrections, and you have the interior of your book ready to be published. While you are proofing the interior, I prepare the cover file (if this service is needed). Once the interior for print is completed, I create the ebook version, and deliver all the files to you for production of your book. The timeframe is 2-4 weeks.

Picture books often include a "bleed" area per the printing company specifications. This requires the file to be set up oversized with the background graphic exceeding the book final trim size. The purpose is for a perfectly trimmed book color edge.
Poetry can be quite complex, but the aim is readability and simplicity in design.
We collaborate with the author for a beautiful custom book, beginning with samples. With you approval we prepare your complete print-ready files.

The author provides all the parts in a single text document in order to include all front and back matter such as Dedication, Prelude, Foreword, Preface, Acknowledgements, Glossary, Bibliography, Index, Epilogue, etc., to complete the book for publishing.
Non-fiction books are often more complex than simple text. We might recreate graphics, tables, graphs, charts, enhance photos, add a number system for the various parts, create Word indexes, and more.

Fiction or non-fiction some books have "callouts" to enhance the pages. This is text chosen by the author, embellished to draw the readers attention.
